SOME USES AND ABUSES OF NONSTANDARD MODELS

Nonstandard models of set theory have history of half a century long. Unfortunately, there are still much prejudice and misunderstanding about new ideas even within the broad-minded mathematical community. This talk bases on [1, 2] and concerns interaction between functional analysis and Boolean valued models as well as the status of Robinsonian infinitesimal analysis.
