GENERAL INFORMATION
 
LOCATION The Conference will take place at the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The postal address: 4 Koptyuga Prospect, 630090 Novosibirsk, Russia. The Institute is located in Akademgorodok, 30 km from Novosibirsk city centre.

REGISTRATION All conference participants and all accompanying persons have to register. The registration will start at 9am on Monday, 22 August. One should expect a modest registration fee.
TRANSPORTATION Public transport in Novosibirsk includes bus, minibus, tram and subway. Fares vary between 20 and 50 RUB for a single journey.
Tolmachevo Airport --> Akademgorodok: Academgorogok is situated in 40 km from the Airport (50-60 minutes by taxi, taxi price appr. 1000 RUB).

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION
  • The GOLDEN VALLEY HOTEL (ZOLOTAYA DOLINA). Hotel rates are 1800-2800 RUB per night. There is a chance that a further price discount may be applied to participants of the conference. The hotel is located in the very heart of Akademgorodok, about 10 min walking distance from the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics.
  • The hostel of NSU. Accommodation prices are essentially lower (to be announced later).
SOCIAL PROGRAM
  • Welcome party at the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics (Monday 22)
  • Tourist trip to Altai Mountains (leaving Thursday 25 August early afternoon, returning Sunday 28 August very late)
  • A number of local excursions (to be finalised later).

Currency and Banks The currency unit in Russia is the Russian Ruble (RUB). Coins: 1, 2, 5 and 10 RUB. Notes: 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000 and 5000 RUB. As of October 2015: USD 1 is about RUB 65; Euro 1 is about RUB 75, see e.g. http://www.x-rates.com/ Foreign currency and traveller's cheques may be changed to rubles in banks offices located near the hotel (opening hours Monday-Friday 9.30-13.00 and 14.00-17.00

VAT and Tipping VAT and tips are included in prices. It is not customary to tip taxi drivers.

Shopping Shops are usually open 7 days a week from 9.00/10.00 to 19.00/21.00. Food stores are open until 22.00/23.00.

Electric appliances The voltage in Russia is 220 AC (50 Hz).
