and Applied Mathematics (INPRIM-2000)
dedicated to the memory of M. A. Lavrent'ev
(1900-1980)
First Announcement
The Program Committee is pleased to announce that the Fourth Siberian
Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics will take place in Novosibirsk
Academic town from Monday, June 26, through Saturday, July 1, 2000. It
is organized by the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, the Institute of
Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics, the United Institute
of Computer Science of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences,
together with the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology "Vector",
Novosibirsk State University, the Lavrent¢ev
School for Physics and Mathematics, Novosibirsk State Technical University,
and the Siberian Society for Promotion of Science and Education.
The Program Committee is chaired by M. M. Lavrent¢ev.
The Vice-Chairmen are Yu. G. Reshetnyak, P. I. Plotnikov, M. V. Fokin and
L. A. Bokut¢. The Scientific Secretaries
of the Program Committee are V. S. Belonosov, V. L. Vaskevich and A. I.
Rylov.
The scientific programme includes twenty plenary lectures, sixty interdisciplinary
lectures in parallel sessions, a large number of talks in the sections
of the Congress, and round table discussions. The working languages of
the Congress are English and Russian. For organizing purposes, the following

before February 15, 2000. Pre-registration is free and implies no
obligation whatsoever. Pre-registration is also possible by e-mail to inprim@math.nsc.ru.
Please indicate your last name, first name, e-mail, affiliation, position,
academic title, address, phone, assumed section (one or several sections
may be chosen from the above list), and the title of the talk. Please indicate
also data requested for visa application such as citizenship, passport
number, date of birth, route in Russia, date of arrival, date of departure,
and the same data for accompanying persons. The period for registration
will finish before February 15, 2000. The registration fee is 50
US dollars before June 26, 2000.
All registered participants will have the opportunity to present their
abstracts which should reach the organizers before March 1, 2000.
Abstracts submitted after this date will not be considered. Decisions on
acceptance will be made by the Program Committee before April 1, 2000.
Acceptance will be confirmed before April 20, 2000. An official
invitation will be sent to you by air-mail at request.
Abstracts should conform with the following instructions. It is strongly
recommended that abstracts be submitted electronically by using the example
provided in the web site
http://www.math.nsc.ru/conference.
Abstracts may also be sent by e-mail to inprim@math.nsc.ru,
with the Subject field containing exclusively the relevant section title
(see the list of sections above). Abstracts should be written in English
or Russian, and prepared in LATEX2e, using only standard
commands and AMS macros, symbols and fonts. They should have the following
structure: 1. Title of the talk. 2. Name and affiliation of author(s).
3. Text of the abstract, not exceeding 1500 symbols in hard copy, including
references. The accepted abstracts will be published.
