Alexandrov's articles on mixed volumes, geometry ``in the large'', elliptic partial differential equations, and fundamentals of relativity which greatly affected the development of mathematics and are reckoned among the best contributions of the Russian science. The book also contains a list of Alexandrov's publications and an overview of his life and scientific heritage.
