Applied Probability Workshop 2020
Mathematical Center in Academgorodok, Novosibirsk State University
August 26-28, 2020, Online
The international conference "Applied Probability Workshop 2020"
will continue the tradition of international research conferences in Siberia.
The conference will be held in August in the online format.
The conference participants will discuss current trends in many areas of
modern probability theory and its applications.
There are three possible forms of participation:
- Speaker with a plenary talk.
- Speaker with a short presentation that includes two parts: 3-minute advertisement and a subsequent discussion in an individual "room";
- Conference participant.
We understand that participants may have various time zones and
try to do our best for this event to happen in the most comfortable environment for
each of the participants.
Session-structure
Plenary talks: 30 minutes talk and 10 minutes for discussion and questions.
Short presentations:
First, each speaker of the session has a three-minute presentation to
advertise their talk. Second, speakers are assigned to their respective
rooms within the Zoom-conference. Participants of the conference then
navigate these rooms. The format of talks inside the rooms is free
(e.g., presentation, one pdf-file, etc.) and the speaker decides how to
organize a discussion. A session is planned to continue for one hour, so
the participants may have a chance to visit each room and ask their
questions.
Round table: a joint discussion of chosen talks.
